Huntley Park - The Best of Pelham in the Spring

Tyra Douyon • February 28, 2023

As springtime rapidly approaches, Fairin Realty is dedicated to letting their future tenants know more about the exciting community that awaits them. Pelham, Alabama draws in thousands of visitors annually to enjoy its attractions and natural splendor. With a wide array of outdoor activities available including hiking, scuba diving, golfing, and skiing, you’ll never be bored in this active city. Huntley Park, one of our newly built for-lease communities, is near several popular attractions, unique bakeries, and recreational activities so there is something for everyone to enjoy.

For Outdoor Enthusiasts

Known as the largest state park in Alabama, Oak Mountain State Park boasts 9,940 acres of hiking trails, camping grounds, an 18-hole golf course and more! For more unique outdoor experiences, there is a driving range, demonstration farm, and horseback riding facilities. Visitors who enjoy watersports can head to the beach and swimming area, rent a boat, fish, or try cable skiing. This park is a favorite among visitors because there are countless things to do that cater to every member of the family, ensuring a fun-filled day.

For Nature Lovers

You can visit America's national bird, the Bald Eagle, at Alabama Wildlife Center–  the oldest and largest wildlife rehabilitation facility in the state. The nonprofit organization provides annual medical and rehabilitative care for over 2,000 orphaned and injured wild birds. Their facility features 12 educational hawks, owls, and vultures for close-up encounters, a patient viewing nursery, guided tours, and educational programs with glove-trained raptors for all ages. There are also several events held throughout the year including camp programs, baby bird showers, and Owl-o-ween.

For Thrillseekers

Pelham’s most intense and frightening horror-themed escape room will take you through 30,000 square feet of terror. Warehouse31 visitors have a choice of three spooky options on the property. In the Escape Room, your group is "locked in" a room and must cooperate to find a way out, while Rigamortis and 3D Experience are interactive and are sure to give you a scare as you're chased by costumed monsters, freaky clowns, and hair-raising maniacs. They also host special events year-round, some of which are based on holiday themes. This is sure to be one of your most memorable (and terrifying) things to do while you’re in Pelham.

Visitors of all ages and skill levels are invited to join the team at
Blue Water Park for deepwater recreational dives and dive training opportunities. With over thirty years of experience and 2245+ scuba dives on record, you can rest assured that the instructors are skilled and your safety is their first priority. The diving park provides excellent full-service options, such as air and nitrox fills, gear rentals, and repairs for individuals with their own equipment. This underwater excursion is sure to be unforgettable.

For Aspiring Pastry Chefs

Finding tasty pastries in Pelham has never been easier. Less than 10 minutes away from Huntley Park is Edgar’s Old Style Bakery, a mom-and-pop style bakery that uses fresh ingredients and timeless family recipes. Dine in for breakfast or lunch and savor their freshly baked breads and pastries. You can also indulge in their popular and limited-time menu offerings like the crab cake benedict, quiche of the day, and New Orleans king cakes.

Your visit to Pelham is not complete without stopping by
Highland Gourmet Scones. This family-owned bakery produces a range of handmade scones using a traditional family recipe. There are several flavors to choose from including their famous golden raisin scone, and other distinctive varieties like cherry amaretto, rosemary and pear, and ginger.
